This was Charleston s second reported homicide of 2024. According to a news release from the Charleston Police Department, the victim was Caden Martin, 19, an employee at the Tobacco & Pipe smoke shop, 2809 7th Ave. in Charleston. Police said he was shot multiple times following an armed robbery by the juvenile shortly before police responded to the seen at around 8:40 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2024. The juvenile has been charged with murder and robbery in the incident.
