PUTRAJAYA: Three villages in Pasir Mas, Kelantan, will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) beginning Sunday (May 9) after Covid-19 cases were reported in the locality.
The three villages are Kampung Paya Ular, Kampung Tualang and Kampung Bechah Palas, located in the Bunut Susu sub-district.
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said to date, a total of 120 positive cases were reported from the three localities.
There are currently 42 cases in Kampung Paya, 26 in Kampung Tualang and 52 in Kampung Bechah Palas. Health authorities have informed the MCO technical committee of the high infectivity rate. We have agreed to enforce enhanced MCO at the three villages for 14 days until May 22 to prevent further spread of the coronavirus, he said on Friday (May 7).

He said that, so far, the three localities had recorded 120 positive cases, with 42 in Kampung Paya Ular, 26 in Kampung Tualang and 52 in Kampung Bechah Palas.
“After conducting the risk assessment with several agencies under the MCO Technical Team and, on the advice of the Health Ministry (MOH), the government has agreed to implement the EMCO in these villages.
PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has identified 20 new Covid-19 clusters, taking the number of active ones up to 411.
In his daily Covid-19 update on Wednesday (May 5), Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said eight of the clusters were outbreaks at workplaces, while six others were community outbreaks.
Four clusters are linked to the education sector, while two are related to religious events.
The Persiaran Setia Prima cluster is an outbreak related to two schools in Shah Alam.
“The positive cases under this cluster were first detected on April 5 from a targeted screening exercise conducted on 271 students and staff of the two schools.
Floods: Ministry creates special squad to assist victims

KOTA TINGGI – The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM), through the Social Welfare Department, has created “Skuad Prihatin Negara (SPN)”, a special squad tasked with helping those affected by floods.
The ministry’s deputy secretary-general (Operations) Mohd Yusri Mohd Yusoff said the volunteer and welfare squad would comprise individuals from the ministry, non-governmental organisations, companies and the general public.

He said the squad’s creation reflected the government’s concern on issues and problems of the people and would implement social and humanitarian work in line with providing aid to the people at the grassroots.
