The galaxy far, far away is bound to get a whole lot bigger. After the second season of “The Mandalorian” wrapped up in December, Disney announced eight upcoming projects set in the “Star Wars” universe, including live-action spin-offs starring Jedis Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano. New animated fare is also on the horizon, starting with “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” premiering Tuesday on Disney+.
That’s a lot of stars to war over. But what are the sources of this magical series? Before the barrage of new films crushes us like trash compactors on the detention level, let’s spend this May the Fourth looking back at how we got “Star Wars” to begin with.
