The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams welcome Bellevue to Wellman Friday for a River Valley Conference doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls enter action with an overall record of 8-7 on the year, 8-6 in the River Valley Conference. They were last in action a over week ago when they beat Tipton on Senior Night in Wellman 38-33 behind Maddie Nonnenmann’s 13 points and Phelan Hostetler’s 11. On the season, the Hawks are led by Nonnenmann at 13 points and seven rebounds per game. Amara Jones leads Mid-Prairie with four assists and three steals per game.
Bellevue is 14-1 on the season, 13-1 in the River Valley Conference. The Comets are ranked No. 6 in class 2A in the most recent poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Winners of eight in a row, they beat Wilton last time out 51-41 behind 16 points from Audrey Wedeking.
