Hawks See Top 15 Spartans in Semis

Mid-Prairie enters the match with an 11-5 record on the year after opening the regional tournament with a 10-0 mercy rule win over Columbus led by two goals each from Sophie Baker and Esther Hughes and two assists each from Kaitlin Martin and Evelyn Gerber. For the year, the Hawks are led by 21 goals for Hughes, eight assists for Martin and Emily Swartzentruber with 77 saves and a 74% save percentage in over 1,000 minutes in goal.

Two KCII area teams will tangle Wednesday in the opening round of the class 1A girls soccer tournament when Columbus travels to Mid-Prairie. The Golden Hawks come into the match with an overall record of 10-5 after a 3-2 win over rival Washington on the road last time out.
