Kota Kinabalu: The State Government must prepare short and long term plans to guarantee that Sabahans will no longer face clean water supply problems, said Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
KOTA KINABALU: Youths involved in land rights advocacy in Ulu Papar, not far from here, are hoping that the government would consider taking alternative measures to provide a more consistent water supply instead of building a dam.
CHIEF Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said a RM4 billion Hydroelectric Dam will be built at Ulu Padas in Tenom as a long-term solution to the water shortage in Sabah.
PAPAR: Sabah’s longstanding water supply problem is expected to be resolved through the Ulu Padas Dam in Tenom costing RM4 billion, work on which is scheduled to start in October and to be completed in 2027.
KOTA KINABALU: Two grassroots movements have objected to the construction of a dam following the state government’s announcement that it is conducting a feasibility study to build the dam either in Papar or Penampang.
