Maui Business Brainstormers will sponsor a business workshop for students called Nā Haumāna ʻoihana nō (Entrepreneurial Students, indeed!) at Kamehameha Schools Maui on Feb. 14 as part of National Entrepreneurship Week.
Bayer Hawaii has donated $50,000 for wildfire disaster recovery to three Maui nonprofits $20,000 for the Lahaina Restoration Foundation and $15,000 each for Maui Economic Opportunity and Binhi At Ani.
Maui Economic Opportunity’s Head Start Lahaina site, the only preschool in town spared by the Aug. 8 wildfires, will reopen Thursday, Feb. 1, following extensive cleaning, repairs, renovations and clearances for health and safety.
About 50 members of the Lahaina Honolua Senior Citizens Club socialized, won prizes through Bingo and lucky drawings and honored one of their own for turning 90 years old Wednesday in a step toward regrouping and recovering after the wildfires.
Applications are now being accepted for the Bayer Hawaiʻi Science Education Fund. This Bayer Fund grant program is open to public schools serving students at the intermediate, high school and college grade levels on the islands of Oʻahu, Maui and Molokaʻi.
