hearings, that there s quote unquote less chatter with females and minorities. usually it s more chatty and relaxed with why males. do you have a sense, and you ve covered these for a number of years in the supreme court, that there is anything different within this environment? are you sensing that she is be, treated differently in any way? yes, i think it is true that sometimes there seems to be less banter, less camaraderie, if you will, not that there haven t been some pretty hostile male to male, when the nominee is male, butty see anything that venal in it. look at the panel. it is filled with men of a certain generation who try very hard to not say something wrong or say an inappropriate thing, and i think sometimes it keeps them from that banter because that s kind of where they tend to get in trouble. so i don t look at it as, oh, gee, we have to treat her
