The county has been working with Mantrap Township about bridge repair on Island View Drive. It crosses the Sand River. The second bridge is further downstream on CSAH 24.
Hubbard County Auditor-Treasurer Kay Rave returned on Tuesday, Jan. 17 with a request to simply name the water body “Kennedy Lake” – this time with Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) approval.
The SWCD is charged with protecting the district’s soil, water, forests, wildlife and recreational resources through education, technical advice, leadership and financial assistance to landowners and cooperating agencies to pursue sustainable management, wise use and conservation practices.
Trust For Public Lands has Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council funding available to purchase 600 acres of former Potlatch land north of Emmaville. The second acquisition involves the Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District and Northern Waters Land Trust buying parcels in Hendrickson, Akeley township, then donating to the county.
