Social media has been a wash with talk about the health status of His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda. Indeed it is worrying but as believers in God, we should put everything in His hands as the best remedy is sought. Our living God listens and for sure He will listen to our prayers for healing of the Kabaka.
Several voices are calling for the resignation or axing of the Katikkiro (prime minister) of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga. In my view and I am sure the views of a number other people, this is uncalled for. It is obnoxious to blame the Katikkiro for what His Majesty is going through. The Katikkiro is certainly doing his best in the current circumstances. I believe many of us feel that it is not in the interest of the katikiro to see the

The speaker of parliament, Rebecca Kadaga will meet the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga over the Kabaka’s health.
Last week, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi caused concern among his subjects when he appeared for his 66th birthday celebrations looking frail ill and seemingly struggling for breath. Mayiga, later explained that the Kabaka was suffering from allergins caused by exposure to wearing masks and face masks.
The newly elected Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) councillors led by Jeremiah Keeya Mwanje, the Kasubi councillor today met Kadaga and expressed concern about the wellbeing of cultural leaders because government has remained silent on Kabaka s health.

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and the Nnabagereka (queen) Sylvia Nagginda on Friday received their first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 at the Lubiri (palace) in Kireka, Kampala.
Photos circulated on different social media platforms by kingdom officials on Friday morning showed the king and his queen being vaccinated, hours after he was on Thursday, seen shopping at a busy supermarket in Ntinda, a city suburb, following a wave of rumours about his health.
Our kabaka is sick. Please @cpmayiga come out and explain this. What is happening. pic.twitter.com/GWzySWLeQY BOBI WINE WON 54.19% (@KalyowaRashid) April 14, 2021
While some people wondered why officials at Mengo allowed the Kabaka to appear in public while he was sick, Mayiga said that if he had not showed up for the celebrations, still people would have asked questions why he had stayed away.
On the people who are calling for Kabaka to be taken abroad for proper management of his health, Mayiga said his doctors who are specialists in what they’re doing believe his situation can be handled here. He wondered why people would think that those around the Kabaka don’t care about his welfare to know which kind of treatment he needs. Mayiga called upon people to disregard online calls to fundraise for the Kabaka to go abroad for better health management.
