Tamil Nadu Education Minister K Ponmudi has been sentenced to three years of simple imprisonment in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case by the Madras High Court. A fine of Rs 50 lakh each was imposed on Ponmudi and his wife. However, the sentence was suspended for 30 days, considering his current position as the Higher Education Minister.
