Popular director Thamira, who has helmed movies likes Rettaisuzhi (starring K Balachander and Bharathirajaa) and Aan Devathai (starring Samuthirakani and Ramya Pandian), succumbed to COVID-19 today. He was hospitalised for almost 25 days and was on ventilator support. While the industry is in shock over his untimely demise, Ramya Pandian says the loss is more personal for her.
“We both are from Tirunelveli. Maybe that’s one reason we bonded really quickly. He treated me like I was his relative, and for me, he was nothing less than family,” says the actress, who starred in his last directorial, which hit screens in 2018.

Down the years, Vivekh has helped many a leading star to blockbuster glory and sustained success
Some of Vivekh s best work came when he was paired alongside Vadivelu, during the middle of their careers. They collaborated magnificently in films like Manathai Thirudi Vittai and Middle Class Madhavan . Despite facing a tug-of-war like situation with Vadivelu, Vivekh invented his own brand of dialogue-comedy, with a tinge of social responsibility, that was born out of instinct.
