Training in paediatriconce a week in GIMS | Noida News

NOIDA: The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) has decided to conduct its training camp on paediatric healthcare once a week from now. Earlier, the camp was being held twice a week. About 35 people have been trained at each of the seven sessions organised so far. The two-day programmes were held from Monday to Tuesday and Thursday to Friday earlier. The staff at GIMS as well as private participants are getting busy with regular patients and fewer of them can attend the training sessions, officials have said. “According to the course structure, about 80% of the training is practical so that healthcare workers are able to handle patients in the paediatric department,” said Dr Brigadier (retired) Rakesh Gupta, director, GIMS. He added that while 20% of the trainees are doctors, the rest are nurses and paramedical staff. The sessions are free for government staff and Rs 1,500 is being charged from each private staff member.
