Neso observes black day to register protest against Act | Guwahati News

Members of the North East Students’ Organigation protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Aizawl on Friday GUWAHATI: The North East Students’ Union, an umbrella body of students’ organizations, on Friday observed a ‘black day’ across the region to mark their protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). “As the passing of unconstitutional bill completes a year today, Neso and Aasu have observed a black day by waving black flags at public places across the region,” Neso adviser Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya said while reiterating their demand to scrap the Act. Talking about the resumption of the anti-CAA protests in Assam, Bhattacharya said that they would like to send out a clear message to the Centre once again that people of the state would not accept the Act. “The Act is anti-indigenous, communal and unconstitutional. The non-violence protests will continue against the Act until it is scrapped,” he added.
