Doha: Qatar’s real estate sector is set to stage a strong recovery this year with addition of more residential units. Around 8,200 residential units are expected to enter market in 2021, offering more choices to homebuyers. A major portion of the new supply will go to Lusail, The Pearl-Qatar and West Bay.
“Residential supply for 2021 is estimated at 8,200 units. Approximately 80 percent of the upcoming supply is concentrated in Lusail, The Pearl and West Bay,” said ValuStrat, a real estate consultancy firm, in a report on real estate sector, released yesterday.

Artistic impression of Global Trade Centre (GTC) Towers in Westlands, Nairobi.
Next to The Villa Rosa Kempinski hotel on Chiromo Road, Nairobi a 603-foot tower is coming up.
The Global Trade Centre (GTC) Towers will consist of a cluster of high-rise buildings that are set to redefine the Westlands’ skyline - the new hub for office and high-end hotel developers.
It will include a block of executive apartments, office tower (which is the tallest and nearing completion) a mall and the luxury JW Mariott Hotel.
Before Westlands, it was Upper Hill that challenged Nairobi’s central business district for architectural creativity, with some of the buildings getting critical acclaim.

Indonesian security forces lately announced a series of arrests of high-profile Jemaah Islamiyah suspects. These include Siswanto (Ustad Arif) and Aris Sumarsono (better known as Zulkarnaen), alleged, respectively, to be the terrorist group’s overall head and its longtime operations chief.
Siswanto’s arrest is the second one of a JI leader in as many years, but some reporting suggests he is merely a senior religious figure who headed the committee to select the group’s next emir – or spiritual leader. This year alone has seen the arrest of more than 30 JI suspected members.
All of this is surprising for a group that has been out of the limelight for nearly a decade, during which JI members have stepped back from their campaign of violence. The last bombing perpetrated by JI was a suicide attack in 2011 that targeted a mosque in a police compound in Cirebon.
