Big changes at Wake Forest University are in the works. All students are now required to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination. The cut-off date was Aug. 1, which was Sunday. If students do not show proof of vaccination and do not have an exemption, they may be removed from housing or courses. Students, staff and a Wake Forest University graduate all told WXII they agree with this requirement. None of them wanted to go on camera, but the faculty member reiterated that it will make him feel much safer when classes start in the fall. Wake Forest said at least 97% of all students are vaccinated for the fall semester. And while faculty and staff are not required to get a vaccine, they are required to report their vaccination status. The Wake Forest student body has been exceptional, University President Dr. Susan Wente said in a post on the university s website. The university said more than 90% of faculty and staff across all campuses said they have been vaccinated. Unvaccinated
