New Delhi: The government is expected to make an elaborate statement on Thursday regarding Jammu and Kashmir before a five-judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court, hearing a clutch of petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370.

Article 370 case: Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for Centre, on Thursday told the Supreme Court that it is ready for elections in Jammu and Kashmir at any time now. The statement from Mehta came during hearing on abrogation of Article 370 in the apex court. It also said that process of updation of voters list in Jammu and Kashmir is underway and it will take a month or so to complete the procedure.
