The Gujarat High Court has issued notice to the State Government, Junagadh Municipal Corporations, the State Waqf Board and other authorities on petitions challenging the demolition notices issued for.
The Court noted that some of the prisoners had Engineering and MBA degrees, and had learnt the technique of digging the tunnel from books in the prison library.
“We are doomed and only some divine power can help. We have no divine powers, but we will not give up. We have the power of the pen.” These are the words of Justice JB Pardiwala of the Gujarat High Court who grilled the State Pollution Control Board on Friday for the severe industrial pollution in the Sabarmati river.
