Daily Times April 21, 2021 A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday fixed the hearing of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s bail petition in the money laundering case. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi-headed bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear the bail petition of Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday (today) after the previous bench came up with a split decision on Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif’s release on bail. The other judges in the newly-formed bench will include Justice Aalia Neelum and Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi. Chief Justice LHC Qasim Khan formed a three-member bench to hear the bail plea of Shehbaz Sharif. The new bench is headed by Justice Ali Baqir Naji, while Justice Aalia Neelam and Justice Shahbaz Rizvi would be the member of the bench. Earlier, the judges of the LHC bench came up with a split decision on Sharif’s release on bail. Justice Sarfraz Dogar, who headed the bench, allowed the petition while its other member Justice Asjad Javed Ghural dismissed the same on merits. Ag Agencies LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has expressed concern over a judge’s dissenting note four days after party president Shahbaz Sharif’s bail was announced. The bail was granted on Wednesday, but Sharif remained in prison. The Lahore High Court’s two-judge bench had a split decision regarding Shahbaz’s bail in the money laundering and assets-beyond-means reference, according to Geo News. Justice Sarfraz Dogar accepted the bail petition, while Justice Asjad Javed Gharal rejected it. The case will now go to a referee judge, who will be appointed by the LHC chief justice. According to details, Justice Ali Baqir Najfi will chair the bench.   The development came day after judges, who were hearing money laundering case, handed over their separate written verdicts on PML-N leader’s bail to the high court office.
