GUWAHATI: The Gauhati high court has granted bail to a woman who had been booked under criminal conspiracy and sedition charges for allegedly having lunch on a dining table with a table cloth resembling the national flag.
Granting her bail June 25, Justice Manish Choudhury said, “It does not prima facie suggest to be an act to have the effect of subverting the government by bringing that government into contempt or hatred or creating disaffection against it.”
Accordingly, it was directed that she be released on bail on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 20,000 with one local surety of the like amount.
