The Rajasthan government in an affidavit said, The requisitions, which were sent to the High Power Committee of the Government of India by the state, were not being fulfilled adequately.
Following the submissions, the Division Bench asked the high powered committee to consider allotting required oxygen to the state and source it from Rajasthan or around to save the time of transportation.
The High Court asked the Centre to consider allotting the required medical oxygen and Remdesivir injections to Rajasthan for the treatment of COVID patients as the state government submitted before it that the needful is not being done as demanded by them. A Division Bench of Chief Justice Indrajit Mahanty and Justice Vinit Kumar Mathur said this on Friday while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) over the issue.
The high court was hearing a public interest litigation during which the Rajasthan government had told the court about the crunch in key medical supplies to tackle COVID-19.

The Rajasthan High Court on Friday sought the response of the Centre and the state government on a petition challenging the different prices of anti-coronavirus vaccines and alleging mismanagement of the COVID-19 situation.
The petition also stated that the different prices announced for procurement of vaccines for the central government, states and private hospitals violated the fundamental and constitutional rights of citizens.
Covishield, which is being manufactured by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India, is priced at Rs 150 a dose for the Centre, Rs 400 a dose for state governments and Rs 600 a dose for private hospitals.

The availability of essential medicines, injections and liquid medical oxygen in Rajasthan is set to improve after the High Court issued directions for ensuring their supply to treat the COVID-19 patients “on a war footing”. The Remdesivir injection had to be issued to a patient within two hours of requisition, the court directed.
