Loved ones of Birmingham toddler Major Turner, who was killed in a shooting in February, came together Friday afternoon to celebrate his third birthday at Avondale Park.

Today, for me is a call for action, for help and, most importantly, a call for simple, decent humanity. 14 days ago, two year old Major Turner s life was taken away at the hands of a senseless gunman. All life s possibilities were stolen from Major, his family and the community as a whole. Majors mother was also wounded in this tragic night. She survived.
