good evening. First, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt condolences to majors mother, Miss Smith, their family and the community at large. Today, for me is a call for action, for help and, most importantly, a call for simple, decent humanity. 14 days ago, two year old Major Turner's life was taken away at the hands of a senseless gunman. All life's possibilities were stolen from Major, his family and the community as a whole. Majors mother was also wounded in this tragic night. She survived. However, it saddens my heart, even mawr, because there were other Children present who could have been affected by this gun violence. This is a call for action. This is a call for action because the person responsible is still at large. The person is still walking around in the community. We know there's someone out there who knows exactly who this person is, and we truly believe that someone who knows who this person is is simply not speaking up. Any investigation is not complete without some form of community involvement. We must remove the old playbook of the no snitch culture if we want to achieve stronger safer communities. Now is the time to take a stand for future generations, future generations that major cannot be a part of future generations that Major will not see. It's time to take that stand. We have to have. We have to develop stronger, safer communities. Now is the time to take a stand for them all. If you have any information whatsoever that will assist us in this investigation, I'm telling you, we need it. And I'm reaching out to you right now. We cannot remain silent. We cannot remain on the sideline. Major needs you. Majors. Family needs you. The community needs you to come forward. This this is my call for action to the person who is responsible. You may be watching right now. On that night, you made a very, very bad decision that led to the death of a precious young child. At some point, you're gonna be apprehended. Justice will serve itself. And it's important that you turn yourself in right now. I'm asking you to stand up for what you've done. Turn yourself in and don't send the community through this any longer. Or this child's family. As a police department, we will continue to relentlessly pursue justice for major majors, family and those who loved him. This is a call for action.
