Patna, April 20 : The Patna high court has formed a two-member committee in Bihar to inspect Covid hospitals and submit a report to the court. The committee visited Patna Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday.
The High Court has appointed a director level officer of Patna AIIMS and a top official of Human Rights Commission as members of the committee.
The two-judge bench of Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh and Justice Mohit Kumar Shah authorized the committee to conduct surprise inspections of any hospital in the state and submit report to the court. The High Court has also directed the committee to inspect Nalanda Medical College and hospital (NMCH) on Tuesday.

While observing that the people at large do not have the requisite information about availability of covid related facilities, the Patna High Court this week directed
Principal Secretary of the State Health Department to bring such information in public domain through media and ensure that at-least once every day at a fixed time, a press briefing on behalf of the Government is made disclosing facts, illustratively, the number of COVID cases, the infrastructure which are available at various places in the State to admit and treat COVID patients and other cogent information which are required to be disseminated to the general public in public interest.

Patna, April 16 : With the situation reaching the stage of community spread in several districts of Bihar, the Patna High Court has taken cognisance of the matter and directed the state government to streamline treatment in government hospitals and increase testing.
The double bench of Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh and Justice Mohit Kumar Shah, referring to media reports, said that the way the coronavirus is spreading in the state is alarming. They have asked the health department of Bihar why poor patients are refused admission in government hospitals, the unavailability of oxygen cylinders, and why the RTPCR test reports results are taking two to three days.
