Mount Tabor s football team capped off an undefeated regular season with a 36-13 win at home over Southwest Guilford on Thursday to clinch the Piedmont Triad Conference championship.
The Spartans (7-0, 5-0) turned in another solid defensive performance, holding the Cowboys (4-3, 3-2) to -7 yards rushing on 18 attempts for the game. Senior defenders Josiah Banks, Max U Ren and Justen Stafford Jr. all came up with interceptions.
Leading the way for Tabor s ground-and-pound offense was senior running back B.J. McIntyre, who carried the ball 21 times for a game-high 165 yards (7.9 yards per carry) and two touchdowns.
