JSD notified of COVID cases, online classes for Monday

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau School District has been notified that at least three people at Thunder Mountain High School have tested positive for COVID-19. In a message sent to Thunder Mountain High School families, the district says Juneau Public Health Center and district protocols are being followed to isolate the individuals diagnosed with COVID-19, identify close contacts, and disinfect the school. Because the contact tracing has not been completed and some test results have not yet been received, all Thunder Mountain High School classes will shift to distance delivery for Monday, April 19, and possibly Tuesday, April 20. On Monday Juneau Public Health will complete the contact tracing process, and the status of Extracurricular activities and in-person classes will be updated Monday afternoon.
