TORONTO – Ontario will likely mix and match COVID-19 vaccine doses in light of uncertain future supply of all the shots approved for use in Canada.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says it’s likely that recipients of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine may receive a different shot for their second dose.
OTTAWA - With thousands of doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine creeping towards their expiration date in freezers across Canada, many provinces moved in mid-April to let people as young as 40 start getting vaccinated with them.
FREDERICTON - New Brunswick health officials on Wednesday reported the province's first death of someone who developed a blood clot after receiving the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

Some pharmacists in Nova Scotia say we re about to find out how popular or unpopular the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine is in the province.
Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia s chief medical officer of health, announced Wednesday the province is lowering the age for AstraZeneca eligibility to 40 years old.
His announcement comes at a time when there are 11,000 doses of the vaccine sitting in refrigerators across the province, with no appointments booked to get those shots in arms.
