later group of defendants in georgia at the same time. that s not going to happen. that s new definition of march madness. not going to have three trials happening at once. now, here is how i think this is likely to play out. we know that the federal judge and the state judge talk to each other. nothing wrong with that. happens when there s conflicting date. no scandal there. happens all the time. what usually happens here the state cases will get pushed. the federal case takes precedent. that will leave us with the january 6th trial starting march 4th. that s going to take a few months. that s going to take us into april and may. but let s remember the mar-a-lago trial in florida, jack smith s other case, that will start in may and take us through july. that s a five-month stretch, phil. you don t need me to tell you what s happening politically from march to july of 2024. winner take all primaries including florida. that s just in march. exactly. trump has to be physically in the
that we re not going to get the trial before election day simply because just a few more delays after that and you are now talking about a much later trial. what might a mid-may trial date mean for trump as the republican front-runner in the presidential race? well, it means that well-before a jury gets to decide on the former president s fate, the voters in the vast majority of the primaries would have already made their decision. so we ll see whether that means whether that has an impact on the electorate or not, jake. we do know that obviously the convention is not until july of 2024. but a lot of it, the work that goes into deciding the fate of the republican nominee, that is well-done before late may. evan pettus, thank you so much. let s discuss with our panel. we re going to discuss what the trial date means. but first i want you all to listen to what trump said this
