Maybe trump voters that are sympathetic to him but open to an alternative. Theres a piece in the New York Times about conservative collegeeducated voters, and it does seem, if you look at the polling from a year ago, they were very open to somebody else. The polling now shows they are much more interested in Donald Trump. What is going on here . It was a good piece, but i would offer a couple of thoughts of context. In the competitive part of the republican primary in 2016, Donald Trump got about 40 of the total vote. Hes polling about 60 of the total vote now. He has gone up with everybody. Definitely improved with collegeeducated republican voters, and also improved with noncollege republican voters and evangelical voters. Our friends at 538.
