Pleasant Elementary receives $2,000 grant to prevent summer slide

TWO GRANTS PROGRAMS LAUNCHED BY MARION COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Feb 17, 2021 MARION, OH Marion Community Foundation is offering grant opportunities for two critical areas of our community Racial Equity & Justice Grant Program and the TEACH Grant Program. Both programs are currently accepting applications, now through March 10. “Marion Community Foundation’s vision is a generous, educated, healthy, collaborative, and vibrant community,” said Dean Jacob, president and CEO of Marion Community Foundation. “To achieve that vision, our core values must include racial equity and justice and supporting our classroom teachers.”  The Racial Equity & Justice Grant Program is Marion Community Foundation’s newest offering.According to Jacob, the Foundation has earmarked $50,000 in awards specifically for the Racial Equity & Justice grant program. This amount, he said, could be distributed in full to one organizational recipient or in several smaller grants to multiple organizations. The decisions on how much and to whom to award grants w

APPLICATION OPENS EARLY FOR 2021 MARION COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Dec 22, 2020 MARION, OH – Marion Community Foundation’s 2021 Scholarship Program is making its online application available early for area high school seniors and graduates. The Foundation’s scholarship program includes more than 130 funds and will award more than $400,000 to area students for the 2021-22 academic year. “We were pleased to have conducted last year’s scholarship program right on schedule, despite the challenges of the pandemic,” said Marion Community Foundation Vice President Julie Prettyman, who coordinates the Scholarship Program. “We hope that by opening the application early, it helps this year’s students and they can use winter break to get a jump start on their applications.”
