Philadelphia high school students plan to walk out of class and strike for better climate change solutions on Friday, April 14 at 12:30 p.m. at LOVE Park. The protestors include teens from Central High School, Julia R. Masterman School, Academy at Palumbo and Science Leadership Academy.
Schools in Philadelphia and portions of Delaware County are among the most racially segregated in the U.S., according to a report from The Century Foundation. The report analyzed and mapped metropolitan areas for racial and income-based school segregation. It found that the Philadelphia region has the most extreme segregation among white and Latino students in the country.
