Government overreach causes worker shortage, remember June 8

Sarasota Herald-Tribune Government overreach causes worker shortage I recently went into a Wawa to get a particular sandwich I enjoy and found that the store was serving only a limited menu and the sandwich I was looking for was not on it. When I inquired about why the menu was limited, the manager explained that due to not being able to hire enough employees, they had to cut back for the time being to keep up. Now believe me, I understand there are more important things going on in the world besides my wanting a particular sandwich, but this is what happens when there is more government in our lives. Keep giving people incentives not to work and we create an unintended trickle-down effect for everyone that results from an overreaching government.

Letters to the editor for Tuesday, May 25, 2021 Schools should limit screen time Collier County School District should be commended for educating our children during one of the most challenging periods in recent history. Letters to the Editor for Friday, April 9

Letters to the Editor for Friday, April 9 Letter writers Can we have it both ways? Nearly everyday you run articles on the importance of social distancing and mask wearing for our community s safety. I am inquiring why a whole page in today s (Monday, April 5) News-Press was dedicated to an Easter Egg Parade and Egg Hunt in Dunbar where there was no evidence of masks or social distancing. Sharing of candy and adults without gloves to pass it out. Another one of your articles last week told of the inconsistency of vaccinating minorities. Can we have it both ways? No regard for what s happening in the pandemic and not taking all precautions but then complaining about not getting the vaccine. Seems like this is hypocritical reporting on your part. Please don t say you were just reporting the news because when you have run other pictures of events there was always a written narrative on your part and with the parade no article.
