STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. While the pandemic has created uncertainty for small businesses on Staten Island, there have been several highlights for the New Dorp business improvement district (BID.) Some owners say the group brought a boost to the area’s businesses in its three-year existence. And the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) would like to see more throughout the borough.
“When COVID is behind us, the businesses within the BIDs will bounce back much quicker than without,” said SIEDC president and CEO Cesar J. Claro.
