A three-judge panel of the Pennsylvania Superior Court upheld the 2020 murder conviction of a Wyoming County man who killed his girlfriend and dumped her body in the Susquehanna River.
A Hartford-based attorney has been found guilty of federal tax fraud and faces up to 13 years in prison, according to the U.S. State’s Attorney for Connecticut’s office.
Earlier this week, Deron D. Freeman, 47, of Glastonbury, was found guilty by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden on three counts of filing false federal tax returns, which are felonies, and four counts of failing to pay his income taxes. He’s free on $100,000 bond pending his sentencing. The crimes carry a maximum prison sentence of 13 years.
A former Connecticut resident now living in North Carolina admitted to conspiracy to commit bank fraud earlier this week and now faces a maximum possible prison sentence of 30 years.
Dayquan Fitzgerald-Williams, 26, pleaded guilty this week via video conference before U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden.
According to court documents and information from the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut, Fitzgerald-Williams was working at Citizens Bank and Santander Bank when he attempted the fraud.
