The Congress has accused the Centre of "intimidating" the judiciary in a bid to "capture" it, after Law Minister Kiren Rijiju wrote to Chief Justice of India suggesting the inclusion of government representatives in the court collegiums.
Attorney General R Venkataramani, representing Centre, apprised the court that out of 104 recommendations with the govt as of now, 44 will be processed by Saturday itself.

As per the statement, Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and S. Abdul Nazeer raised an objection to the letter circulated by CJI U.U. Lalit, seeking their views regarding proposals for elevation to the Supreme Court.
