An Ontario farm where a man from Mexico died in a COVID-19 outbreak that affected some 200 workers in 2020 has been fined $125,000 after Scotlynn Sweetpac Growers pleaded guilty to failing to take reasonable safety precautions.
Scotlynn Farms, based in Vittoria, Ont., has pleaded guilty in the COVID-19 death of one of its workers. It s the first COVID-19 prosecution of an employer under the occupational health and safety laws in the province.
