JSL Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal said, "Through this MoU, our aim is to deliver high-quality products to the defence and aerospace sectors with increased efficiency. The move is aligned with the Prime Minister s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, and will contribute towards reducing reliance on imports."
JSL said RVPL has potential downstream cold-rolling manufacturing capacity of 250 KTPA (kilo tonne per annum) for wider and thinner segment besides having a capacity of 50 KTPA for pipe and tube segment. Its plant is located at Vidyasagar Industrial Park, Kharagpur, West Bengal over 60 acres of land area. The plant is currently shut down.

The company is investing Rs 700 crore in sustainability projects aimed at cutting 1.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. JSL has committed to reducing emission intensity by 50% by 2035, aligning with India s NDC goals.
