Our Correspondent Diphu, Aug. 22 (EMN): Weavers conference-cum-ceremonial distribution programme by Handloom and Textiles Department in collaboration with Adult Education Department, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) was held at Joysing Doloi Auditorium in Diphu on Aug. 21. The programme was held to inform weavers about Swa Nirvar Naari scheme for self-sustainability. Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang, said that a discussion is being held with the weavers of Karbi Anglong on various schemes which would benefit the weaver’s community. He said that the KAAC supports the Handloom & Textiles Department to help weavers with the production of traditional customs so that it can be promoted to the international level. The CEM said, ‘the Handloom department is providing one-time financial assistance to weavers as support.
