SOME 300,000 people in Ireland are living with a rare disease.
There are around 7,000 of them many of which have no treatment. One of these people is Joyce Stokes, who suffers from multiple system atrophy after being wrongly diagnosed with Parkinson’s at first.

Joyce suffers from MSA, which has left meant she has had to transform her life and her home
But she told us: “People think I’m drunk when it is actually a disease affecting my balance and speech.” The condition has completely changed her life, she can no longer run, or leave her home on her own.
