SOME 300,000 people in Ireland are living with a rare disease.
There are around 7,000 of them — many of which have no treatment. One of these people is Joyce Stokes, who suffers from multiple system atrophy — after being wrongly diagnosed with Parkinson’s at first.

Joyce suffers from MSA, which has left meant she has had to transform her life and her home
But she told us: “People think I’m drunk when it is actually a disease affecting my balance and speech.” The condition has completely changed her life, she can no longer run, or leave her home on her own.
