Ms. Frankel, whats on the cover of your book . So this is a handler and his dog, and theyre doing a Training Exercise for a mission that they might have to do in afghanistan or iraq which does include a drop from a helicopter. What sparked you to write about war dogs . My job in foreign policy, weve been writing about the iraq war for as long as its been going on and i really love dogs. So as i was looking at photos coming in off the wire, i saw this one photo that sort of stood out as different in afghanistan, and it was because there were these marines and their bombsniffing dogs, and they were just hanging out, and everyone looked very happy. Theres a very strong contrast to the unfortunate photos that are more gritty and more gory. So tom suggested that we partner in [inaudible] and i did that for about four years an
[inaudible] the role that [inaudible] have had in strengthening the Iraqi Kurdistan . You repeat that . Yes. If you could please comment on the role that exxon, the oil company exxonmobil. Yeah, sorry. Okay. Thank you. Exxon is one of a number of Large International Oil Companies that have signed exploration and production agreements with the regional government. They did that under threat from baghdad, that they might lose their positions and privilege to develop oil fields in parts of iraq. P. M. They need a Banking Sector they need to be involved in regional trade, but oil is king, and exxon has played a leading role. Seems like a good place to leave these things. And instead we embraced, and instead we returned to the truth that our parents and grandparents understood that the more a person learns the more a person earns. [laughter] in other words, the more money that workers earn, the better customers businesses have, and the better our economy grows. So together we actually, we passed the living wage. We raised the minimum wage to 10. 10 an hour. [applause] we made college we made college more affordable more more people and four years in a row without a pennys increase. We made our public schools, as tom mentioned the best in the country for five years in a row. We made it easier for people to vote and not harder.
There will always be idiots and opportunists among us but that does not and should not invalidate the real feelings of the people after demonstrating lawfully and peacefully. With that and i appreciate your. We are jewish and things happen to jewish people. Different minorities. To jewish people loop probably when the ball teams when i would assume. Im sorry. I received a tweet from somebody. Why is it only black people. I sent people. I sent them a series of white kids riding. The response was, these are all ball teams. White kids living for all kinds of reasons. This idea that only africanamericans engage in civic disorder is a historic fallacy. I have a question. Two questions. One question.
