The decaying, heritage-listed Lamb House has been boarded up ahead of an increasingly likely council auction to recover unpaid rates.
The 119-year-old mansion, which overlooks Brisbaneâs CBD from atop the Kangaroo Point cliffs, will be acquired and sold by Brisbane City Council if $321,000 in outstanding rates are not paid.

At the front of the residence â officially and simply named âHomeâ â is a metre-high mound of newspapers and magazines fused together in a papier-mache mass forged by months or years of rain.

Brisbane’s heritage-listed Lamb House, the stately Kangaroo Point property officially named Home, might have finally slipped through the fingers of its owner.
In August, Brisbane City Council gave the property’s owner, Joy Lamb, three months to pay rates owing on the now-derelict property, which overlooks the city’s CBD from the Kangaroo Point cliffs.
