The decaying, heritage-listed Lamb House has been boarded up ahead of an increasingly likely council auction to recover unpaid rates.
The 119-year-old mansion, which overlooks Brisbaneâs CBD from atop the Kangaroo Point cliffs, will be acquired and sold by Brisbane City Council if $321,000 in outstanding rates are not paid.
A mound of newspapers and magazines litters the garden of Lamb House, which has been boarded up while its fate is determined.

At the front of the residence â officially and simply named âHomeâ â is a metre-high mound of newspapers and magazines fused together in a papier-mache mass forged by months or years of rain.
