The sister of Joshua Tree Coffee Company owner Royce Robertson, who was fatally shot this week by Riverside County sheriff’s deputies in Indian Wells, believes the handgun that law enforcement officials say her brother had was not a real firearm, but a BB gun.
“My brother didn’t have any guns,” Demetria Robertson told The Desert Sun on Thursday. “He had two BB guns and two antique rifles,” she said, referring to two family heirlooms that he kept at home.
