(Courtesy of Jessica Hoffman) Copyright © 2020 Albuquerque Journal When first lady Melania Trump shows off the Christmas trees on display at the White House this season, among the festive adornments dangling from the branches are a dozen ornaments created by students from Harrison Schmitt Elementary School in Silver City. Each year, one school from every state is chosen to create ornaments under the America Celebrates program. This year, the honor went to 12 students from the elementary school in Silver City.
