For families who have a loved one in the hospital, many medical centers are reluctant to allow family members, a support person, or personal care attendants to visit a patient during their stay. This is understandable particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With that said, Stavros Center for Independent Living believes communication is critical when serving people with disabilities who are receiving medical care.
