James Walsh believes his more than 30-year journey in education has well-prepared him for the challenge of being Bethel Park School District superintendent.
“I see Bethel Park as one of the academic and educational leaders in Western Pennsylvania,” he said. “It would be the capstone of my career to be able lead the district to new and better places, to continue to polish the diamond so to speak. I felt I had walked quite a journey professionally, and was ready for a big, successful academically rich and diverse community like Bethel Park. That’s why I pursued it.”
Mother accused of shooting, killing two children in Ambridge home
AMBRIDGE A Beaver County mother is accused of killing her two children at a Maplewood Avenue home Monday afternoon.
Krisinda Bright, 48, of Ambridge, is charged with two counts of criminal homicide after investigators say she shot and killed Jeffery Bright, 16, and Jasmine Cannady, 22, at a residence the three shared. The 16-year-old victim was a transgender Ambridge Area High School student, according to friends and county officials.
Both victims died of gunshot wounds to the head. Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer has ruled their deaths a homicide.

According to a criminal complaint, Krisinda Bright called 911 around 1:30 p.m. to report she had shot two people. She told the dispatcher the gun was unloaded and on the dining room table.
