this is drawn is that we want, that the drafters of this want to send a message of appeasement to iran and this has been tried. it hasn t worked. the last administration bent over backwards to offer appeasement to iran. they were greatly betrayed by it. it was tried with the jcpoa, and it didn t work. the reason it didn t work is we are not dealing with people here who are acting in good faith. what we need to do is we need to send a message of firmness and not weakness, and at the end of the day when we re all done with this, there will be such a message. it needs to be a consistent and uniform message when it comes to messaging to iran, when it comes to messaging on our foreign policy as it relates to iran. but it will not be this law that is before us because it s going to be vetoed. we all know it s going to be vetoed. it takes a two-thirds majority to override that. it s not going to happen. and so the mixed message is there. iran will listen to it and the hard-liners wi
States have a good offensive policy. I think it was admiral rogers not that long ago within the last few months said just as much as that, that we dont have a good cyber offensive policy. We talked about it ed a inad infinitum in classified settings for the entire 10 years i was on the intelligence community. We could never get consensus to move to the next place what that cyber offensive is. As a personal note i saw the administration say they will make china pay for the consequence of the opm hack. I cant wait. I cannot wait to see what the heck that thing is. Candidly, im not too excited about whats going to be. We havent crossed that threshold to bring everybody in this room to deal with this problem. Long answer to your question i dont believe they can go extra territorial to what they perceive is a threat at that point. Thank you so much. Thank you if we can give a hand to the speaks. You can see how we can take many hours talking about that. We will roll into the next panel capa
Those clinicians who were providing higher quality, better value care a big movement in general to give patients more knowledge and to let them be more active participants in their own health care. Medicare solved the initial problem. It was designed to solve. But there is so much more that we need to do to make sure that the program improves and of course most importantly, is around for our children and grandchildren. That will be a whole other discussion. What changes would you make . First i think we need to establish that something is happening. As producing much better results. Were not sure what that s there is per capita spending and medicare has essentially been flat or going up about the rate of the gdp. Its unprecedented in the history of medicare. Its always been said that actual was wrong. Were spending much less than predicted. And i think well probably wind up talking this morning about whether this is sustainable or not. But something good has been going on. I also have
Testify. Mr. Graham i wont mention the candidate that is not here. Is there any scenario you think if your generals and advisors are saying maybe we should have gone earlier, if we go in places in syria, we can knock isis back. If you know about this, is that a smart thing to do . Why arent we doing it if it is . Mr. Graham you have a weak president that is more worried about Campaign Promises than dealing with the threats to our country. He was told by all of his commanders, dont leave iraq without a 10,000 residual force behind. John mccain and i begged him not to. Everything we said has happened. It is hard, democracy is hard. Look how hard it is for us. You expect these people to get everything right in 10 or 15 years . It wont happen. He was told by all of his advisors, you need to help the Free Syrian Army while assad is on the rope, a nofly zone. He said no thank you. He said isil is the j. V. Teal. He drew a red line, and everybody thinks we are all talk. You need more troops i
