NJ man wanted for murder of hunter arrested in Bensalem, prosecutors say

CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. - A man accused of murdering a hunter in Pine Hill has been arrested in Bensalem, prosecutors announced Tuesday night.
Shawn Massey, 38, of Gibbsboro, was taken into custody without incident Tuesday around 4 p.m. Detectives said a Bensalem police officer was driving in Bensalem Township when he recognized Massey.
Massey, 38, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the homicide of Joseph Bottino, 54, of Gloucester Township, according to authorities.
Police were called to the 100 block of Watsontown-New Freedom Rd. around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 after Bottino was found dead with visible traumatic injuries. Bottino was known to hunt in that area and had done so many times before, according to family members.

Shawn Massey, 38 of Gibbsboro, is facing murder charges in connection with the death of 54-year-old Joseph Bottino.
Bottino, who was known to hunt in the Pine Hill area, was found stabbed to death on December 23, 2020, in Camden County.
A medical examiner determined Bottino died of multiple stab and incise wounds as well as blunt force injuries.
Investigators said evidence collected at that scene linked Massey to the crime.
Authorities are conducting an “extensive search” for a man who is charged with stabbing and beating another man to death in southern New Jersey. Authorities believe 38-year-old Shawn Massey of Gibbsboro killed 54-year-old Joseph Bottino of Gloucester Township in Pine Hill on Dec. 23.
