More than 565 of the state s brightest young men will attend Arkansas Boys State, an immersive leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion. This summer s 83rd annual session runs May 26 through May 31 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
QUITMAN - Parkers Chapel didn’t win any championships Tuesday at the 2A State Track & Field Championships in Quitman. But Coach Josh Willeford was pleased with the effort.
After winning singles championships in Class 2A the past two seasons, Parkers Chapel’s Jackson Dison has shown no signs of complacency. The senior will begin his drive for a three-peat on Monday in the 2A State Tennis Tournament at Allen Park in Jonesboro.
El Dorado’s senior boys finished second and junior high boys won the SAU Lois Davis Cross Country Invitational Saturday. The Wildcats’ Zachary McMillon was the overall winner, taking first in the senior high division with Julian Marquez winning the junior high boys’ race.
